As the technology behind M3GAN is stolen and used for the military weapon Emilia, Gemma must allow M3GAN to be reborn and upgraded to combat this new opponent. Two years after the artificial intelligence robot "M3GAN" went out of control and commenced a deadly rampage, her creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has now become a well-known author and is actively pushing for government regulations on AI. However, Gemma's niece Katie (Violet McGraw) has become a rebellious 14-year-old girl who frequently resists Gemma's overprotectiveness.

M3GAN's core technology has actually been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military weapon named "Emilia" (portrayed by Ivanna Sakhno from the series "Ahsoka" and "Pacific Rim: Uprising"), an ultimate spy-type killing machine. As Emilia gradually becomes self-aware, her interest in obeying human commands begins to diminish, even believing that humanity should not exist.

When the future of humanity faces danger, Gemma realizes that the only solution is to revive M3GAN (played by Allison Dunbar and voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a complete upgrade, enhancing her speed and strength, making her even more lethal. As M3GAN confronts Emilia, this strongest artificial intelligence finally encounters her most challenging opponent.

The returning cast in the film "M3GAN 2.0" includes Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps, who portray Gemma's loyal tech team members Cole and Tess, respectively; in addition, Aristedes Asarian, Tim McShane, and Jermaine Clement will play new characters.
