Its sequel "M3GAN 2.0," also produced by the original creative team, sees Gerard Johnstone returning to the director's chair, while James Wan, Jason Blum, and Allison Williams serve as producers, once again launching this crazy story of artificial intelligence gone awry.

The story takes place two years after the artificial intelligence robot "M3GAN" went rogue and embarked on a killing spree. Her creator Gemma (played by Allison Williams) is now a famous author who is actively advocating for strict government regulations on artificial intelligence. However, Gemma's niece Cady (played by Violet McGraw) is now a rebellious 14-year-old who often resists Gemma's overprotectiveness.

The core technology behind M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor, resulting in the creation of a military-grade weapon named Amelia (played by Ivanna Sakhno), an ultimate killing-type spy humanoid robot. However, as Amelia awakens her self-awareness, her interest in obeying human commands gradually diminishes, and she even begins to question the value of human existence. When the future of humanity is at stake, Gemma realizes that the only hope lies in reviving M3GAN (played by Jenna Davis and voiced by Allison Williams) and upgrading her completely to make her faster, stronger, and deadlier. As M3GAN faces off against Amelia, this most powerful artificial intelligence witch finally confronts her toughest opponent.

The returning cast for "M3GAN 2.0" also includes Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps, who portray Gemma's loyal tech team members Cole and Tess, respectively. Additionally, Aris D. Sarai, Tim Shephard, and Jermaine Clement also play new characters in the film.
