In response to this situation, Disney has decided to suspend the preparation work for the live-action version of "Tangled," even though director Nathan Greno had previously been appointed and shooting was planned to start in 2025. This decision stems from concerns about the potential box office impact of upcoming live-action adaptations of Disney animated films. There are still plans for two live-action films, "Lilo & Stitch" and "Moana."

However, with the results of "Snow White," Disney is concerned that the box office performance may negatively impact its future series of live-action versions of Disney animations, leading to the decision to temporarily halt the plans for "Tangled."

It is currently uncertain whether this decision is a permanent cancellation, a temporary pause, or if a new direction for creative development is needed. Reports suggest that this change may be related to the recent disruptive casting challenges faced by "The Little Mermaid" and "Snow White."

Additionally, it is understood that before the plans for "Tangled" were halted, the film had been confirmed to be directed by Michael Gracey, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson set to write the screenplay. There had also been talks with several actresses for the lead role of "Princess Rapunzel," but no official decisions have been announced yet.

Despite the suspension of the "Tangled" plans, Disney still has two live-action films, "Lilo & Stitch" and "Moana," scheduled for release during the summer blockbusters of this year and next year. As for how these films will be received, it remains to be seen.
