The Thai comedy "Ghost Wedding" is adapted from the Taiwanese film "About My Relationship with Ghosts Becoming Family." It stars the renowned Asian CP duo Billkin and PP Krit. Their intimate interactions in the film resemble those of family members, and the filming process sparked a lot of chemistry. This movie brings Thai humor and cultural characteristics to the audience and will be released nationwide on May 9.
The Thai comedy "Ghost Marriage: The Thai Version" is adapted from the Taiwanese box office movie "The Things That Happened When I Became Family with a Ghost." This film features the well-known CP duo Billkin and PP Krit, who gained fame from the BL Thai drama "TharnType: 7 Years of Love," making their big screen debut together. Fans refer to them as "BKPP," and they share a strong friendship; they have known each other for nearly ten years, and their chemistry during filming was palpable, even engaging in "loving hugs" on set to motivate each other.
Both 25 years old, BKPP are close friends, and their popularity clearly increased with the explosion of "TharnType." During the filming of "Ghost Marriage: The Thai Version," their interactions sparked quite a bit of chemistry. PP Krit mentioned that as long as Billkin is around, everything feels easier, and their feelings are sincere and easily evoke emotions. Billkin also noted that PP needs encouragement because he loves to act cute, so he often gives him support, such as telling him "keep going."
The official trailer for the new version has been unveiled, showcasing Billkin not only recreating the iconic nude pole dance from the original but also dazzling with makeup and wearing a sheer outfit while moving in a gay nightclub. The video features exaggerated "wet" scenes that bring Thai-style humor, raising expectations. However, Billkin emphasized that while this movie retains its core elements, it incorporates richer details, making the story closer to Thai culture and its humor more fitting for their background.
In terms of character design, the male lead in the Thai version differs from the Taiwanese one; Billkin plays a character who is a former thief changed by love, while PP Krit's ghost character has had adjustments made to his academic background to better fit their traits. "Ghost Marriage: The Thai Version" is set to be released in theaters across Thailand on May 9 this year.
