The People's Liberation Army conducted a two-day military exercise near Taiwan from April 1 to 2, which provoked dissatisfaction among the Taiwanese public. Rapper 賴慈泓 took to social media to criticize the actions of the Chinese Communist Party as "bullying" and emphasized that the people of Taiwan should firmly uphold their sovereignty. He recalled the influences he experienced during his upbringing and urged everyone to cherish democracy and human rights, mentioning that many ancestors came to Taiwan to escape threats.
The Entertainment Center reports that in recent years, China’s cultural and military intimidation towards Taiwan has intensified. On April Fool's Day (April 1), the People's Liberation Army announced a two-day military exercise, starting at 7 AM and continuing until 7 PM the next day, which has provoked dissatisfaction among the Taiwanese people. Rapper 賴慈泓 also expressed his views on social media, bluntly stating that the CCP is "acting like a rogue addicted to bullying" and called on the people of Taiwan to "firmly uphold sovereignty."
賴慈泓 published a lengthy post on IG, stating that he was born during the martial law period. As he grew up, the Republic of China established a democratic system. The first presidential election by popular vote was in 1996. When he was in elementary school, he often heard air raid sirens, and many classmates began to immigrate to the United States. His family also asked him if he wanted to live in America. 賴慈泓 remembers responding that he really liked his classmates. He felt confused about the situation at that time, saying, "If there really is a need for unification or war, why not solve it during the first popular election?"
He pointed out that now, approaching 40 years of age, he has become very accustomed to a democratic and free environment, yet he is facing threats and military exercises from the CCP. He stated directly: "This is indeed acting like a rogue addicted to bullying, it's really irritating. A regime that has never ruled us loudly criticizes us. Have they not considered our feelings?" He believes that the true Taiwanese people are "those who grew up in fear," and because of this, "we should more firmly uphold our sovereignty and cherish the hard-won democracy and freedom."
賴慈泓 finally called on everyone to remember: "Most of our ancestors risked their lives to escape from that place to come here."
