U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated that the United States will no longer bear the majority of the burden for global humanitarian aid and called on other wealthy countries to strengthen their assistance following the earthquake in Myanmar. He pointed out that the U.S. should not take on 60% to 70% of humanitarian aid and emphasized that wealthy countries like China and India should also participate. He mentioned that U.S. resources are limited and need to be re-prioritized.

The U.S. Secretary of State Rubio earlier stated that the United States will no longer bear the responsibility of providing most of the world's humanitarian aid and called on other wealthy countries to strengthen their assistance following the earthquake impact in certain areas of Myanmar.

Rubio pointed out to the media in Brussels: "We are not the world government. We will provide humanitarian aid like other countries and will do our best." He emphasized that expecting the United States to bear 60% to 70% of global humanitarian aid is unfair, and many "wealthy countries" should be involved, specifically mentioning China and India.

Rubio noted: "We are the richest country in the world, but our resources are not unlimited. We carry a huge national debt and have many other priorities. It is time to recalibrate these issues. We will be there to help as much as we can, but at the same time, we have other matters to address."

He believes that both China and India are wealthy countries and that many other nations around the world should contribute to global humanitarian aid.
