The subsidy amount can be as high as 55,000 NTD, covering both removable dentures and repair costs. In Taipei City, the subsidies are categorized into removable dentures, fixed dentures, and repairs, and applications must be submitted after a medical assessment. Eligibility criteria include low-income households and seniors within specific age groups. In New Taipei City, subsidies for dentures are available for indigenous people aged 55 and above and low-income households aged 60 and above, but these also require prior application. Each person can receive a maximum subsidy of 100,000 NTD per year, along with application procedures and restrictions.

In order to take care of the oral health of elderly seniors, various regions provide subsidies for dentures for the elderly. In the Taipei and New Taipei areas, this subsidy measure is especially common, with eligible indigenous people aged 55 and older and disadvantaged seniors able to receive denture subsidies. Additionally, apart from subsidies for denture devices, there are also repair fees for removable dentures, with a maximum subsidy of 55,000 TWD available for application.

In 2025, the denture subsidy in Taipei City includes three types: removable dentures, fixed dentures, and repair for removable dentures. Applicants must undergo an oral screening at a medical facility and be assessed by a dentist for needs. Only after approval can the production of dentures begin.

Eligibility Criteria

• Individuals aged 55 and above listed as low-income households.
• Individuals aged 65 and above under public accommodation in Taipei City.
• Individuals aged 55 and above listed as middle-low income households.
• Individuals aged 65 and above receiving the Taipei City middle-low income elderly living allowance.
• Individuals aged 65 and above receiving the Taipei City accommodation subsidy.
• Individuals aged 65 and above receiving living assistance for disabilities.
• Individuals aged 65 and above receiving over 50% of assistance for daytime and residential care costs for disabilities.

Types of Subsidies

• Removable dentures: Maximum subsidy amount ranging from 20,000 TWD to 45,000 TWD, with the remaining portion to be borne by the individuals.
• Fixed dentures: For low-income households and those under accommodation, a maximum subsidy of 7,500 TWD per denture; for middle-low income households and those receiving related subsidies, a maximum of 7,000 TWD per denture.
• Repair for removable dentures: Maximum subsidy of 6,600 TWD per person per year, and those who have received subsidies cannot apply for repair costs within the one-year warranty period.

Application restrictions include: only removable dentures are approved for those with more than three consecutive missing teeth in the posterior area; the same tooth position cannot be applied for repeated subsidies within five years, with a maximum annual subsidy of 100,000 TWD.

Application Process

Those who meet the subsidy conditions must bring identity proof and eligibility certification to the designated medical institution for oral screening. The medical institution must prepare relevant documents to apply to the social bureau, and only after approval can the production of dentures begin. Once the dentures are completed, the medical institution must submit the billing to the association or the social bureau within one month.

2025 New Taipei City Denture Subsidy

The subsidy program in New Taipei City is similar to that of Taipei City, providing denture device subsidies for middle-low income elderly, and adopts a pre-application system; subsidies will not be granted if dentures are already produced.

Eligibility for Subsidy Application

• Residents of New Taipei City aged 55 and above who are indigenous, or low-income household members aged 60 and above who are assessed by a doctor as needing dentures.
• Indigenous individuals aged 55 and above or elderly individuals aged 65 and above, who must also meet other conditions of being middle-low income households.

Subsidy Restrictions

• Removable dentures: No repeat applications for the same jaw within five years; only removable dentures or single fixed dentures can be chosen for the same jaw, simultaneous applications are not allowed.
• Repair for removable dentures can only be applied for after one year, with a maximum subsidy of 6,600 TWD per year.
• Single fixed dentures can only be applied for once a year, with a maximum subsidy of 5,000 TWD, totaling a maximum subsidy of 15,000 TWD.
