The plot revolves around the rise and fall of a wealthy aristocratic family, showcasing Nyonya culture. The lead actor, 修杰楷 (Xiu Jie Kai), is the only Taiwanese actor, facing emotional challenges such as losing a child and his daughter being abducted in the story. This is his first time working away from home for an extended period after marriage, relying on daily video calls to ease his longing. He and his wife, 賈靜雯 (Jia Jing Wen), have two daughters, and their parent-child interactions with their daughters are very touching. 修杰楷 (Xiu Jie Kai) admits to playing a disciplinary role at home, educating his daughters through communication, striving to cultivate their interest in sports, and explaining the benefits of physical activity.

修杰楷 and his wife 賈靜雯 have two daughters, and his participation in the family-friendly scenes adds to the emotional depth. He spent over three months filming, with the longest stretch away from home being 30 days. Regarding his first long absence from home as a new dad, 修杰楷 mentioned that since the birth of his daughters, he rarely leaves them for more than two weeks and often cooks at home while helping them with their homework, making them accustomed to his presence. Coincidentally, his daughters were at summer camp, and 賈靜雯 was also at home, allowing him to work in Singapore for an extended period.

When discussing his daughters' upbringing, 修杰楷 candidly admitted that due to his personality, he plays the role of a "drill sergeant" at home. If his daughters make mistakes or misbehave, he uses reasoning to help them understand. He humorously cited an example where, to encourage his not-so-sporty daughters to develop an interest in sports, he spent an hour explaining the importance of the "dopamine" produced after exercising, telling them: "Dopamine is the happy element produced by the body. It gets released naturally after exercise, making one feel good, just like how you feel joyful when you score 100 on a test."
