South Korean streamer Penguin Sister has been banned from entering Taiwan for three years due to illegal work in 2023. During a live broadcast, she revealed that she had not applied for a work permit while serving as a one-day store manager for a video game, which led to her employment gold card being revoked. The immigration agency confirmed that she was banned from entry due to illegal work and stated that she could reapply in the future if she meets the conditions. Also affected is American YouTuber Lele Pons, who has been banned for similar reasons.

The South Korean streamer Penguin Sister was banned from entering Taiwan for three years in 2023 for working illegally in Taiwan. Penguin Sister originally obtained an employment golden card last September and planned to walk around the island this year, but revealed during a livestream on the 6th that she would not be allowed to enter. The ban recently took effect, and she will have to wait until 2028 to enter Taiwan again.

Penguin Sister stated that the reason for this situation was her participation in a gaming event in 2023 as a one-day store manager without applying for a work permit, which led to her golden card being revoked. The Immigration Department subsequently responded, pointing out that she had received a notification from the Ministry of Labor for illegal work and was banned from entering for a certain period according to regulations. It is worth mentioning that all of Penguin Sister's other activities were properly permitted.

The Immigration Department also noted that if Penguin Sister meets the conditions in the future, she can submit a new application for entry. Additionally, in a similar context, American YouTuber 乐乐法利 was also banned from entering the country. Although she had applied for an employment golden card and was preparing for long-term development, she faced the same restrictions due to similar illegal work circumstances.
