She stated that she does not blame the Taiwanese government or her agency, but mainly blames herself for not confirming her work permit. Penguin Sister expressed her frustrations during a live stream, revealing that her failure to apply for a work permit during her island tour of Taiwan in 2023 resulted in the entry restriction and cancellation of her employment gold card. Her agency expressed regret over the situation, indicating that she may only be able to participate in online activities for the next three years. Internet users have varying opinions on this incident.
Entertainment Center / Hsiao You-Chen Report
Korean streamer Penguin Sister has confirmed her debut in Taiwan. She only received her employment golden card last September; however, today (the 6th) she revealed that she had already prepared to go to Taiwan but learned just before her departure that she has been banned from entry for three years and must wait until 2028 to enter again.
Penguin Sister went live this morning with the title: "WTF BANNED FROM TAIWAN?" She stated that she originally planned to fly from Korea to Taiwan on the 5th but was informed before her departure that she was prohibited from entering. During her round-the-island trip to Taiwan in 2023, due to her agent's negligence, she failed to apply for a work permit for a one-day store manager event, resulting in her being banned from entry, and her employment golden card was also revoked.
The agency representing Penguin Sister commented, "It’s unfortunate and regrettable." The issue of not applying for a work permit occurred before the signing of the contract with both parties, and they can currently only accept this fact. They hope to organize online activities within the next three years as well.
PTT netizens reacted to this saying, "Isn’t that illegal? A bunch of fans are eager to collapse and just want to laugh," "Taiwan is quite lenient, but why not look at your own issues after being reported," "Traveling with a tourist visa to work is against the law," "If you commit a crime openly, being reported is just coincidental," "You should be treated equally. Try working without a permit in Europe and the US; if caught, you'll definitely be deported and punished."
