South Korean streamer Penguin Sister (Yoo Yoon-jin) revealed that her planned trip to Taiwan today was obstructed due to a three-year entry restriction, and she must wait until 2028 to re-enter. She encountered an entry ban because she lacked confirmed work permission, and stated that she doesn't blame the government or her agency, but only herself. Penguin Sister's agency expressed regret over the situation and mentioned that they might consider online activities in the next three years. Netizens expressed various opinions on her situation, believing that she should be reported for working illegally.
The Korean streamer Penguin Sister (柳允進, 유윤진) has confirmed her debut in Taiwan. Last September, she just received her employment gold card; however, today (6th), she revealed that although she had prepared to move to Taiwan, she suddenly discovered she is restricted from entering for three years and must wait until 2028 to re-enter Taiwan.
During her live stream this morning, Penguin Sister titled her stream: "WTF BANNED FROM TAIWAN?" She explained that she was scheduled to travel from Korea to Taiwan on the 5th, but was notified just prior to her trip that she was banned from entry. The reason is that during her trip around Taiwan in 2023, due to her manager's oversight, the necessary work permits were not applied for. This has resulted in her not only being restricted from entering but also facing the cancellation of her employment gold card.
During the live stream, Penguin Sister stated that she does not blame the Taiwanese government or her manager, but rather feels regret, blaming herself for not confirming the work permit. The boss of her management company "Sunny Future Music" expressed helplessness and regret about this incident, as the issue of not applying for a work permit occurred before the contract was signed. They can only accept this fact and hope to participate in online activities within the next three years.
Netizens on PTT had mixed opinions about this incident. Some believe it is an illegal act, stating "Isn't this illegal?" and "Taiwan is very lenient; why not look for problems within oneself when reported?", while others mentioned that working without a permit in other countries could lead to deportation and other consequences.
