The chairman of Chunghwa Telecom, Jian Zhicheng, announced that the company will launch its first AI computing center in Yongkang, Tainan in the second quarter, focusing on serving the AI needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. Chunghwa Telecom will upgrade its data centers and collaborate with research institutes to promote generative AI applications. He stated that this plan has the potential to surpass competitors and will drive digital transformation across various industries.

• Jian Zhicheng showcased the AI technology of Chunghwa Telecom, with the next step being the construction of a computing power center in Tainan. Recognizing the rapid development of AI (Artificial Intelligence) applications, Chunghwa Telecom, whose market value has exceeded a trillion NTD, will adopt a dual strategy to actively enter the AI market. Our investigation found that Chunghwa Telecom is targeting the future needs of small and medium-sized enterprises by providing comprehensive AI services and plans to upgrade its existing data centers into AI Computing Power Centers (AIDC), with the first facility set to be unveiled in the second quarter in Yongkang, Tainan, incorporating interdisciplinary generative AI applications from Chunghwa Telecom's Research Institute.

• Chunghwa Telecom Chairman Jian Zhicheng confidently stated: "The value of this technology center is extremely high, and rivals cannot match it." At the smart city exhibition held in late March, numerous companies showcased cutting-edge technologies, with various AI application slogans hanging throughout the venue. At Chunghwa Telecom's booth, the Qing dynasty Emperor Qianlong transformed into an AI guide, using AI imaging technology to identify illegal vehicles and scan for litter and noise on the streets, demonstrating the application scenario that Chairman Jian Zhicheng described as "AI for everyone, AI applications transforming industries."

• Even before the smart city exhibition, Chunghwa Telecom had already held a Technology Day to showcase management and customer service AI models and five major applications. Our research pointed out that as an industry leader, Chunghwa Telecom, in response to the government's promoted "AI Smart Island" policy, decided to integrate resources and actively seize the AI computing power market along two routes. "On one hand, we will upgrade the data center (IDC) into a computing power center (AIDC), combining public cloud for data storage and computing power rental, while also investing in generative AI applications from Chunghwa Telecom Research Institute," revealed Chairman Jian Zhicheng regarding their plans.
