According to complaints, some have alleged that this self-proclaimed "Stanford sleep authority," a U.S.-born Taiwanese physician, concealed his marital status and was involved in dating relationships with several women. One of the women, A, shared her experience online, subsequently attracting comments from three other women, all stating that they had been approached and deceived by Liu and had even received nude photos from him. A's boyfriend ultimately informed Liu's wife of the situation, but Liu sued A and her boyfriend. After an investigation by the prosecutor's office, no charges were filed, and the two hoped to expose Liu's misconduct to warn other women.

Liu Yongquan invited women to share a trip to Miami Beach and sent messages saying, "I want to hug you, I want you." This doctor, who frequently appears in the media, is reportedly married with children and travels between Taiwan and the U.S., collaborating with hospitals in Taiwan to consult with patients. A's boyfriend expressed to the media his anger over Liu's hidden marriage and dating fraud. After A informed her boyfriend about the situation, he approached Liu's wife, who conveyed her emotional pain through a friend and revealed that Liu had admitted to infidelity and regretted his actions, hoping to make amends for the past.

Subsequently, A and her boyfriend shared their experiences on social media, attracting two other women who reached out, indicating that they had also been victims of Liu's dating fraud. When Liu learned of this, he filed defamation and intimidation lawsuits against A and her boyfriend and posted a lawyer's letter on social media claiming he was defamed. After an investigation, A and her boyfriend were not charged and received affirmation from the prosecutor; they decided to go public with Liu's behavior to warn other women to stay vigilant and not be deceived.

Another victim, B, stated that Liu promised to divorce his wife but has yet to take any action.

Victim C expressed solidarity with A, openly showing her disgust towards Liu Yongquan.

Although Liu Yongquan claims to be a sleep medicine expert at Stanford University and frequently travels around the world to give lectures and teach, he has not responded to these allegations.
