The era of mass recalls has arrived, and Hualien County Council Speaker Zhang Jun has recently expressed his support for the recall of Kuomintang Legislative Yuan Caucus Leader Fu Kun-chi. Online polls indicate a significant level of support for Zhang Jun.
According to the data from the poll as of 7 AM on the 7th, the number of participants had reached 13,885, with 77.9% expressing support, 20.4% opposing, and another 1.5% having no opinion. Zhang Jun stated that he and several senior blue camp councilors have faced repression and slander from Fu Kun-chi, forcing them to leave the Kuomintang. Since Fu Kun-chi took over as the Legislative Yuan Caucus leader, there has been a noticeable decline in the momentum of the Kuomintang.
Zhang Jun pointed out that the Kuomintang is facing the most severe challenge in its history, with many outstanding party legislators at risk of being recalled, which concerns the party members. Although many legislators within the Kuomintang have performed well in their inquiries, they have faced widespread attacks and slander due to Fu Kun-chi's influence.
He emphasized that while opposing mass recalls, there is a need to support the recall of Fu Kun-chi; only by severing ties with Fu can the legislature hope to restore rational negotiations. He called for the removal of this "tumor," asserting that if it is not removed, the legislature will never know peace, and Hualien will continue to stagnate.
