He stated that, as a foreigner, he cannot understand or perceive the fans' enthusiasm, thus he cannot live the intensity of this fervor. "The people around me are nice and tell me about the current popularity level; I haven't heard anyone wanting to send me back." Despite not being able to comprehend through words, Hirano Keiichi knows about the team's popularity through observation and reminders from friends. For him, popularity is a double-edged sword, "Everyone says we are a popular team, which means that what other teams do may not be discussed as much as what we do.
