After receiving intelligence, the Cybercrime Division's Third Team launched an investigation into a fraud group led by someone with the surname Jian. This group posed as an investment company, luring victims to download fake investment apps and conduct financial transactions, ultimately retrieving cash through forged documents. From December 2023 to February 2024, the task force conducted a sweep operation, arresting 19 suspects, and initially identified over 10 victims, with a fraud amount of approximately NT$10 million. The police urge the public to remain vigilant and introduced a "Fraud Dashboard" to provide information and preventive measures against fraud.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau's Telecommunications Investigation Team No. 3 recently received intelligence and discovered a fraud group led by a suspect with the surname Jian, which impersonated several investment companies to lure victims into downloading a counterfeit investment platform app. After applying for and binding their accounts, victims are tricked into depositing money to engage in stock trading, bidding on new stock ETFs, and borrowing stock for investment, while the group's operators forge employee ID cards or attendance cards to gain the trust of victims and facilitate cash withdrawals in person.

After initiating the investigation, the Criminal Investigation Bureau’s Team 3 collaborated with the Kaohsiung City Criminal Investigation Division and the Kaohsiung Gangshan Precinct to form a special task force, and reported the case to the prosecutor for direction in the investigation.

After thorough investigation, the special task force launched a crackdown operation from December 113 to February 114, executing three waves of raids and detaining 19 suspects, including those with the surnames Jian and Chen. Preliminary checks identified over 10 victims, with defrauded amounts totaling over NT$10 million. The case has been transferred to the prosecutors' office for investigation in accordance with the Organized Crime Prevention Act, the Penal Code for aggravated fraud, and the Money Laundering Prevention Act.

The police call on the public, noting that fraud crimes pose a serious threat to the financial safety of individuals, and the methods of scamming continually evolve over time. A new "Fraud Prevention Dashboard" webpage has been launched, where the public can search using keywords or directly visit the 165 website to understand statistical data on fraud methods, commonly used scripts, and case studies to enhance their own fraud prevention capabilities.
