In "The Outlaw Doctor," the roles played by Zhang Junning and Lian Bingfa go deep into a remote worker dormitory to rescue a migrant worker who has a shoulder fracture from hauling wood. At the same time, a pregnant migrant worker suddenly experiences water breaking, and Zhang Junning has to transform into a "midwife" to assist in the delivery but discovers that the baby does not cry after birth, leaving both mother and child in a precarious situation, which makes her anxious. Zhang Junning shared that despite the medical procedures requiring special props, during the emergency handling in the dormitory, they could only use tools from a toolbox as substitutes for medical instruments, adding to the challenges of shooting.

Not only is the plot tense and thrilling, but the filming process was also rather tough. This scene was not shot in a studio; instead, the team traveled to a metal shack in the mountains to capture the scene, which required transporting medical equipment and tools up the hill, making shooting extremely challenging.

On the other hand, the actors play a role as medical equipment import agents in the series, actively helping missing migrant workers obtain good medical services, but there are many hidden secrets and illegal trades behind it. There are rumors involving organ trafficking and human smuggling groups, putting the characters back in crisis. The actor revealed that he spent a lot of time contemplating the complexity of this character, hoping to be closer to reality.

"The Outlaw Doctor" explores the intertwined fates of two strangers in a mysterious mortuary at night. The doctor is busy treating sick children, causing him to neglect his own child; on the other hand, a Vietnamese plastic surgeon engages in illegal practice in Taiwan to pay for his mother's exorbitant medical expenses. This series is set against real social issues, delving into the struggles of human nature in underground society.

The show will air starting March 8th, every Saturday at 9 PM on Public Television, Public Television +, and Chunghwa Telecom MOD, with two episodes airing each time.
