Mitsubishi Shindoh, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, will hold a "Mitsubishi Materials Lead-Free Copper Seminar" on April 10 at 2 PM at the Taiwan Water Hardware Innovation Boutique Hall's Innovation Research Room, located at No. 588, Zhongzheng Road, Lukang Township, Changhua County. This seminar will introduce the company's lead-free copper products, as well as the control directions and specifications regarding free-cutting brass in various countries. Additionally, there will be an introduction to the current regulations related to RoHS, ELV, DWDN, and REACH, along with future development directions.

As global awareness of lead-free environmental protection increases, Mitsubishi Shindoh is fully committed to the development of lead-free copper materials, including "ECOBRASS" and "GloBrass." These materials are suitable for water hardware, water meters, faucets, electronic components, automotive parts, and industrial copper components, and have already received widespread acclaim in Japan and Western countries.

The agent for Mitsubishi Shindoh in Taiwan stated that the characteristic of "ECOBRASS" lead-free copper material is the addition of silicon (Si) as a substitute for lead, which can maintain similar free-cutting machinability to traditional lead brass (C3604), while adding high strength, high corrosion resistance, and excellent wear resistance, making it a high-performance lead-free copper alloy product. Additionally, the copper (Cu) content is as high as 76%, and although the metal cost slightly increases, the enhanced strength and corrosion resistance of the base material reduce the thickness of the material, ultimately achieving a reduction in overall costs, while also possessing good electrical conductivity, making it suitable for electrical and electronic components.

The characteristic of "GloBrass," on the other hand, is that the copper (Cu) content can be reduced to 62.5%, thus controlling the increase in metal material costs. It does not require additional characteristics and is close to the performance of traditional lead brass, making it an alternative material for new options.
