Mitsubishi Shindoh in Japan held a lead-free copper seminar in Changhua on April 10.
讀後心得
Mitsubishi Shindo, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, will hold a "Mitsubishi Materials Lead-free Copper Seminar" on April 10 at 2 PM in Lukang, Changhua. The seminar will introduce lead-free copper and international standards for free-cutting brass, as well as analyze related standards such as RoHS and ELV. In response to environmental needs, Mitsubishi Shindo has launched its lead-free copper material series "ECOBRASS" and "GloBrass," which are widely used in plumbing hardware and electronic components. "ECOBRASS" replaces lead with silicon to maintain machinability while providing high strength and corrosion resistance, effectively reducing costs; "GloBrass" contains 62.5% copper, making it a new alternative close to lead brass. Those who wish to register for the seminar can contact Yongxu Company.

Mitsubishi Shindoh, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Materials in Japan, will host the "Mitsubishi Materials Lead-Free Copper Seminar" on April 10th at 2 PM at the Taiwan Water Hardware Innovation Boutique at 588 Zhongzheng Road, Lugang Township, Changhua County. The seminar will introduce the company's lead-free copper products, as well as the regulatory directions and specifications for free-cutting brass in various countries. Additionally, the meeting will provide an overview of the current RoHS, ELV, DWDN, and REACH regulations and future directions.

With the rising global awareness of lead-free environmental protection, Mitsubishi Shindoh is fully committed to developing a series of lead-free copper materials, including "ECOBRASS" and "GloBrass." These materials are suitable for water hardware, water meters, faucets, electronic components, automotive parts, and industrial copper components, and have received positive feedback in markets in Japan and Europe and the United States.

The feature of Mitsubishi Shindoh's lead-free copper material "ECOBRASS" lies in the addition of silicon (Si) as a substitute for lead, which can maintain the excellent machining performance of traditional leaded brass (C3604) while providing high strength, high corrosion resistance, and excellent wear resistance, making it a high-performance lead-free copper alloy product. The copper (Cu) content of this material reaches 76%, which is higher than that of the previous leaded brass (C3604). Although the metal cost has increased, the strength and corrosion resistance of the base material have improved, allowing for reduced thickness, achieving an overall cost reduction while maintaining excellent conductivity, making it suitable for electrical and electronic components.

The feature of "GloBrass" is that the copper (Cu) content can be reduced to 62.5%, while controlling the rise in metal material costs without the need for additional properties, closely approaching the performance of leaded brass, making it a new alternative material.

The "Mitsubishi Materials Lead-Free Copper Seminar" welcomes participation from all sectors. For details, please contact Yongxu Co., Ltd., phone: (02) 2521-6001 ext. 1611, contact person: Mr. Chen, email: edwardchen@stmmc.com.tw.
