Trump's administration implemented strict immigration policies as the United States announced the cancellation of all visas for a certain country.

After the return of President Trump to the White House, he quickly implemented reforms in immigration policy, particularly strengthening the expulsion of illegal residents. U.S. Secretary of State Rubio announced that all South Sudan passport holders would have their visas revoked and the issuance of new visas would be halted to prevent their entry. Reports indicated that Trump warned that countries failing to swiftly accept expelled citizens would face sanctions such as visa restrictions and tariffs. South Sudan is the latest and one of the poorest countries, and the Trump administration is also revoking the "temporary protected status" of these nationals.

After the President of the United States reentered the White House, a series of reforms were launched, particularly focusing on immigration policy, with the aim of deporting individuals illegally residing in the U.S. The Secretary of State officially announced that Washington has decided to revoke the visas of all South Sudanese passport holders and will no longer issue new visas to South Sudanese, thereby denying them entry.

According to reports, the Secretary of State stated that the State Department has begun actions, "to revoke the visas of all South Sudanese passport holders and will also stop issuing visas to nationals of that country to prevent their entry." He pointed out that any country that fails to promptly accept its citizens may face consequences including visa regulations or tariffs.

The transitional government of the country has been accused of "taking advantage of the U.S.," because regardless of which country it is, if a citizen is expelled from another country, they must be timely accepted. During the previous administration, many South Sudanese nationals obtained "Temporary Protected Status" (TPS), which is effective until May 3, 2025. The Department of Homeland Security revealed that about 133 South Sudanese citizens currently remain in the U.S. under TPS status, with approximately 140 others eligible to apply.

This announcement marks the first instance of such measures targeting all passport holders from a specific country since the President's return to the White House. South Sudan is the newest country established in the world and is also one of the poorest countries. After Trump took office, he began to eliminate TPS status, rescinding the "Temporary Protected Status" for more than 600,000 Venezuelans just this past January.
