They emphasized that maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait is a common interest of the international community and opposed any unilateral actions that undermine peace. Recently, the Chinese People's Liberation Army conducted joint operational exercises around Taiwan, further raising international concerns.

On Sunday, the G7 foreign ministers issued a joint statement expressing concern over China's provocative actions, particularly regarding the recent large-scale military exercises conducted around Taiwan. The statement pointed out that China's increasingly frequent and destabilizing actions escalate cross-strait tensions and pose risks to global security and prosperity.

The Eastern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army organized multi-service forces on the 1st to conduct exercises that involved vessels and aircraft approaching Taiwan from multiple directions, testing the joint operational capabilities of the theater; subsequently, on the 2nd, they launched drills code-named "Strait Thunder - 2025A," which featured live-fire exercises in relevant waters of the East China Sea, targeting important ports and energy facilities with precision strikes on simulated targets.

The Group of Seven Industrialized Nations (G7) and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs reiterated on the 6th that maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait aligns with the interests of G7 members and the broader international community, and they expressed opposition to any unilateral actions that undermine this peace and stability, including the use of force or coercion.
