Hualien County Speaker Zhang Jun recently publicly supported the move to recall Kuomintang Legislative Yuan caucus leader Fu Kun-chi and accused Fu of suppressing and discrediting blue camp councilors. According to a poll, a majority of participants support Zhang Jun's stance. Zhang Jun believes that distancing from Fu Kun-chi is key for the Kuomintang to avoid marginalization and calls for the party to focus on outstanding legislators rather than being affected by Fu's controversies.

With the arrival of the major recall era, Hualien County Speaker Zhang Jun, who has long been classified as part of the pan-blue camp, recently expressed support for the recall of Kuomintang Legislative Yuan Party Group Leader Fu Kunqi. An online poll titled "Hualien County Speaker supports the recall of Fu Kunqi, do you support it?" showed strong support.

According to the online poll, as of 7 AM on the 7th, a total of 13,885 people participated in the voting, of which 77.9% expressed "strong support," while 20.4% stated "do not support," and another 1.5% chose to remain neutral. Zhang Jun expressed in his article that he and several senior blue camp councilors have faced continuous suppression and slander from Fu Kunqi, ultimately forcing them to leave the Kuomintang. Since Fu Kunqi took over as the Legislative Yuan Party Group Leader, the Kuomintang's momentum has experienced a significant collapse. He believes that the Kuomintang must distance itself from Fu Kunqi to avoid marginalization within the party and to bridge the growing distance from the people, hence the decision to initiate the recall.

Zhang Jun stated that the Kuomintang is facing the most severe challenges in its history, with many outstanding party members in the Legislative Yuan being improperly attacked due to Fu Kunqi's actions. Many serious, professional, and responsible legislators should not be targets for recall, yet are being comprehensively defamed because of Fu Kunqi. He pointed out: "We oppose the major recall but support the recall of Fu Kunqi. Only by cutting ties with him can the legislature return to rational negotiation. If the tumor is not removed, the legislature will never achieve peace, and Hualien will remain stagnant forever."
