The fire department dispatched six teams with a total of 29 personnel to extinguish the fire. There was thick smoke at the scene, but no open flames, and both mother and son were successfully rescued.
A residential house located at Lane 566, Section 1, Zhongshan Road, Guanmiao District, experienced a fire at around 8:13 PM on the sixth. An eighty-year-old woman was sent to the hospital for burns, while her fifty-eight-year-old son went to the hospital due to smoke inhalation. Both were conscious. The area of the fire was approximately 1.5 square meters, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
At 8:13 PM that evening, the Tainan City Fire Bureau received a report and immediately dispatched eleven fire trucks and twenty-nine personnel to the scene to extinguish the fire. The site was a one-story brick house with a metal roof. Although there were no visible flames, thick smoke continued to billow out. The mother and son, who were originally trapped, were successfully rescued by volunteer firefighters and taken to Chengda Hospital. The eighty-year-old woman was conscious; she had carbon particles in her nostrils and nasal hair, with a 2% second-degree burn area on her waist and a 3% second-degree burn area on her back. Her son was also conscious but exhibited symptoms of smoke inhalation, with carbon particles on his face and difficulty breathing, yet his vital signs were stable and he had no burns.
In this fire incident, six firefighting teams from Guanmiao, Rende, and other areas were dispatched to respond. When firefighters arrived, thick smoke was already billowing from the building, with no visible flames, and the elderly woman who was trapped was successfully rescued by volunteer firefighters.
