The "body" mentioned by the couple is suspected to be related to the deceased wife of their 62-year-old relative, Hideki Yonaka, who passed away five years ago. However, it remains unclear why this couple, who committed suicide, specifically mentioned a body located 120 kilometers away in Shiga Prefecture.

The police stated that the Iwase father and son sold their old house due to financial issues about ten years ago and moved to Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. Yonaka's deceased wife originally lived in Sakai City, Osaka, and moved to Nagahama City many years ago to live with the Iwase father and son; however, she passed away for unknown reasons. Neighbors indicated that a funeral had been held at that time. Currently, the police suspect that the Iwase father and son and their relative may have been involved in abandoning the female corpse in the freezer. Reports suggest that the body may have been stored in the freezer for some time and will require at least a week for an autopsy. Further investigations will determine if there were any disputes among the three individuals and confirm the cause of death and identity of the corpse.
