A’s current boyfriend later reported Liu to his wife, but Liu filed a lawsuit against A and her boyfriend; however, following an investigation, both were not prosecuted, prompting the two to decide to expose Liu's behavior to warn other women not to become victims.

The boyfriend of the victim, A, revealed that over two years ago, A met Liu, who falsely claimed to be single, online, and they met several times at Liu's initiative, but A always regarded him as just a regular friend.

Until early last year, Liu once again invited A to dinner. At Liu's enthusiastic invitation, A agreed to the meeting. After learning that A was traveling to the United States, Liu invited her to travel to places like Miami; however, A still only viewed Liu as a friend. Despite this, Liu continuously expressed concern for A and requested that she send selfies, often complimenting her beauty in an attempt to cultivate a passionate and romantic image.
