The physician, known as the "Stanford sleep authority," has recently faced accusations from several women, who claim he concealed his married status and engaged in inappropriate relationships with multiple women. According to reports, one woman, designated as Woman A, shared her experience, and subsequently, three other women came forward, stating that they had also been deceived and received nude photos from Liu. Woman A's boyfriend reported Liu to his wife, but Liu not only filed lawsuits against Woman A and her boyfriend but, after investigation by the authorities, both were not prosecuted. They decided to expose Liu's behavior to warn other women.
Liu Yongquan invited Woman A to spend a trip to Miami Beach with him and sent her messages saying, "I want to hug you, I want you." This doctor, who is both a physician and a frequent media guest, regularly travels between Taiwan and the United States, practicing in the U.S. while collaborating with several hospitals in Taiwan. Woman A's boyfriend revealed that Liu hid his marital status and was involved with multiple women. After Woman A told her boyfriend the truth, he reported Liu to his wife. Liu's wife expressed her sadness through a friend and stated that Liu had admitted to cheating, regretting his actions and hoping to make amends.
Later, Woman A and her boyfriend shared their experience on social media, which led to two more women contacting them, stating they too had been deceived by Doctor Liu. After learning of this, Doctor Liu filed defamation and intimidation lawsuits against Woman A and her boyfriend and released a lawyer's letter on social media, claiming he was being defamed. Recently, after the investigation concluded, the two received a non-prosecution disposition. With support from the court, Woman A and her boyfriend decided to expose Liu's actions to remind other women to be cautious and not to become victims.
