The incident at Fuzhong Station of the MRT occurred on the evening of the 5th at 7 PM, when a 23-year-old fourth-year female student surnamed Lai from National Taiwan University fell onto the tracks. Unfortunately, she was struck by an arriving train and died on the spot. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police found that she had obvious head injuries, and she was declared dead after being sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. On the afternoon of the 6th, the prosecutor conducted an autopsy on her body and preliminarily determined that the cause of death was due to the impact. The family had no objections to the results, and the body has been returned to the family.

According to reports, at the time of the incident, Ms. Lai suddenly entered the tracks from the platform heading towards Dingpu and unfortunately was hit by the train, losing all signs of life at the scene. When police and emergency personnel arrived, they found that Ms. Lai had obvious external injuries to her head and abrasions on her limbs. Despite being rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, she was pronounced dead due to her severe injuries.

Police investigations revealed that Ms. Lai was only 23 years old, currently a fourth-year student at National Taiwan University, married, and lived in Taipei with her husband in a rented apartment. Prior to the incident, she boarded the train at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall Station, transferred at Ximen Station to go to Fuzhong Station, where the tragic event occurred.

On the afternoon of the 6th, around 1 PM, the prosecutor conducted an autopsy on Ms. Lai's body at Yadong Hospital, which took about 50 minutes. The preliminary determination of the cause of death was due to impacts to the head and abdomen. The family did not dispute the cause of death, and a death certificate has been issued. The body has also been returned to the family. During the autopsy, Ms. Lai's husband did not appear to give a statement.
