During the 2023 Dajia Mazu pilgrimage event, frequent conflicts occurred among the worshippers. In the early hours of the 4th, while the personnel from the Zhenlan Temple were clearing a path for Mazu, a confrontation erupted with members from other temples, resulting in members using safety helmets to attack and one man brandishing a gun to threaten others. The police intervened shortly after and arrested the individuals involved. In the early hours of the 6th, two men got into a verbal conflict with the Niang San group, prompting the police to deploy again to control the situation. Dajia Zhenlan Temple Chairman Yan Qingbiao called on worshippers to exercise restraint to avoid compromising the safety of the event.

• The annual Dajia Mazu pilgrimage event began on the night of the 4th, but conflicts among devotees frequently occurred. Zhang stated that he did this to "gain courage," and he has been processed according to the law.

• In the early morning today, two men got into an argument with members of the Niansan group as the procession passed the intersection of Ziqiang and Cixiu North Road, leading to a push against the police. The police quickly controlled them and brought them back for questioning, with preliminary checks revealing that one of them showed signs of alcohol consumption, indicating he was clearly intoxicated at the time.

• Regarding the recent conflict incidents, Yan Qingbiao stated that the conflicts did not arise between Zhenlan Temple and the devotees, but may have been caused by personnel from other temple locations. He urged everyone to exercise restraint, or it could affect the overall safety of the event.
