This spring, there has been abundant rainfall, and the water storage rates of various reservoirs are generally good, with the Feitsui Reservoir nearing 90%, and the Shimen Reservoir and Yonghe Mountain Reservoir also almost full. The Mingde Reservoir in Miaoli has a water storage rate of up to 96%, ensuring agricultural irrigation needs. The Water Resources Agency pointed out that in the past, insufficient spring rains often caused reservoir shortages, leading to seasonal water scarcity issues. This year's water conditions are ideal, and water transfer projects for the Shimen Reservoir have been carried out.

The Baoshui Reservoir has reached full water level and is relieving pressure through natural overflow. With the arrival of the Qingming Festival, this year's spring rains have been abundant, resulting in sufficient precipitation for major reservoirs in areas north of central Taiwan, leading to a situation of no water shortage. According to real-time water data from the Water Resources Agency, the reservoir capacity of the Jade Reservoir, which has the highest storage capacity, is close to 90%, while the storage rates of the Shimen Reservoir, Baoshui Reservoir, Yonghe Mountain Reservoir, and Liyutan Reservoir are almost at full capacity. Under the continuous influence of spring rains, the water needed for spring farming has significantly decreased. The Mingde Reservoir in Miaoli, which mainly supplies agricultural irrigation, has also reached a storage rate of 96%, indicating that this year's water situation is quite ideal.

The Water Resources Agency points out that in recent years, the spring rain season has often been insufficient, resulting in a shortage of reservoir storage. Every April, there is a dependency on northern water transport to meet the needs of domestic and industrial water usage, and it often has to wait until the Mei-Yu season at the end of May to alleviate water scarcity. This is particularly concerning for the Hsinchu Science Park; any water supply insufficiency will impact its production capacity. Therefore, the Water Resources Agency is currently accelerating the pipeline project to transfer water from the Shimen Reservoir to the Baoshui Reservoir, while the seawater purification plant in Hsinchu's Nanzhuang has also entered the bidding stage.

The Water Resources Agency reports that with the continuous influence of spring rains, the storage rate of the Jade Reservoir is about 90%, while the largest Shimen Reservoir in the Taoyuan, Hsinchu, and Miaoli region is also nearing full water level. Two more fronts are expected to hit this week, and it is anticipated that the Shimen Reservoir may need to release water to relieve pressure. At the same time, the Baoshui Reservoir and Baoshan Reservoir in Hsinchu have reached full water level, while the water treatment levels of the Yonghe Mountain Reservoir and Liyutan Reservoir in Miaoli are also nearing full capacity. Concerns about insufficient water supply in the Hsinchu Science Park in past years now add to worries over the impact of global tariff policies.
