The Keelung City Government plans to improve the sidewalks around campuses in two phases. The first phase has allocated a budget of NT$122,985,000 for improvement plans concerning 14 schools, including sidewalk repairs, planning of parent parking areas, and adjustments to the flow of students and vehicle traffic. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The second phase will address improvements for 5 schools in the Shiding District and Nuannuan District. Since 2023, the city government has been actively promoting the improvement of school access pathways and securing funding from the central government. The project began its design and bidding process last year. Councilor 鄭愷玲 stated that the improvement measures have undergone multiple field evaluations and communications with the public, hoping to meet the needs of schools and ensure the safety of students commuting to school.

The Keelung City Government is improving the pedestrian walkways around schools citywide in two phases. The first phase has a total budget of 122,985,000 NTD, focusing on plans for fourteen schools in the city. The content includes improving the surface of the pedestrian paths, planning parent waiting areas, and adjusting the flow of students and vehicular traffic, with completion expected before the end of the year. The second phase will improve five schools in the Qidu District and the Nuannuan District.

Due to the early development of Keelung City, many roads lack sidewalks, causing several students to contend with vehicles while commuting to school. Since 2023, the city government has actively promoted the improvement project for school pathways, successfully securing funding assistance from the Ministry of the Interior's National Land Agency and the Ministry of Transportation's Highway Administration for the first phase, which has identified fourteen elementary, middle, and high schools for pathway improvement plans.

The city government noted that after the plan was approved in 2023, except for Changxing and Badou Elementary Schools, which are still in the design phase, the other twelve schools began engineering design and bidding work last year. If all goes smoothly, the projects will be completed in stages by the end of this year, with a total budget of 122,985,000 NTD, of which 102,412,000 NTD is funded by the central government, and 20,573,000 NTD is allocated by the city government as matching funds.

As the first phase of the project nears completion, the city government also plans to include Baifu Junior High School and Wudu Elementary School in the Qidu District, as well as Nuannuan Elementary School, Nuanxi Elementary School, and Xiding Elementary School in the Anle District as targets for the second phase of improvements. Kuomintang councilors pointed out that the improvement of school pathways for Jian De Junior High and Wulun Junior High in the Anle District has gradually taken shape after multiple site inspections and adjustments based on communication with nearby residents. They hope to truly meet the needs of the schools and anticipate that the newly opened pedestrian walkways and parent drop-off areas will make commuting safer for children and give parents greater peace of mind.
