The "Cultural to Go" event, which takes students out of the classroom, attracted thousands of students to Tainan to explore its historical culture. The Cultural Affairs Bureau has used on-site visits and AR technology to help students gain an in-depth understanding of Tainan's history and enhance their recognition of local culture. The event has collaborated with 43 schools, leading 1,600 students in hands-on learning experiences. Multiple routes are offered, such as the "Tainan Historical Architecture Treasure Trove," which allows students to appreciate the architectural beauty of museums, Chihkan Tower, and the Taiwan Literature Museum; the "Taiwan Meets the World" route covers the Taiwan Museum of History, Anping Fort, and Anping Tree House. Under the guidance of tour teachers, students gradually explored Tainan's history and gained a wealth of knowledge.
The "Walking Out of Campus, Culture to Go" event leads thousands of students to explore the historical culture of Tainan. The best way to understand history and culture is to visit in person. The Cultural Affairs Bureau's "Walking Out of Campus, Culture to Go" event has kicked off, taking students into historical and cultural sites, where in the culturally rich city of Tainan, they can gain a deeper understanding of Tainan's history through real visits, AR augmented reality, and other means. It is also hoped to establish cultural identity and unique cultural confidence in Tainan.
This project has currently collaborated with 43 schools in Tainan, leading 1,600 students out of the campus to gain firsthand knowledge of the environment. The Cultural Affairs Bureau has launched different routes for students to choose from. Among them, the "Tainan Historical Architecture Treasure Trove: Discovering the Cultural Treasures of the Museum City" route combines the development contexts of history and literature, linking the Tainan City Museum, Chihkan Tower, and Taiwan Literature Museum, guiding students to appreciate the beauty of architecture and historical sites from different periods.
- The Tainan City Museum condenses the historical footprints of the Dutch period, Ming Cheng period, and the Qing Dynasty and Japanese occupation periods, with a grand statue of Koxinga in the park narrating the brave stories of battles against the Dutch East India Company.
- Chihkan Tower, formerly known as "Fort Provintia," served as a military fortress during the Dutch period, also marking the beginning of Taiwan's Age of Exploration.
- The Taiwan Literature Museum, initially attracted by its unique architectural appearance, was known as "Tainan Prefectural Office" during the Japanese occupation period and is now an important base for preserving Taiwanese literature.
The "Encountering Taiwan and the World" route combines the National Taiwan Museum, Anping Fort, and Anping Tree House. Beginning from when the Dutch landed on Taiwan 400 years ago, Taiwan officially made its debut to the world. Anping Fort, originally known as "Fort Zeelandia," has evolved through multiple eras from a military fortress to today's tourist attraction.
Under the guidance of tour instructors, students explore Tainan's historical treasures step by step, visiting in person, and through explanations, they connect with the contents of social studies textbooks, while also supplementing many interesting pieces of knowledge not covered in class. The Anping Tree House, also built during the Dutch period, has formed the unique landscape of "a house within a tree" after a long passage of time. Throughout each route, students absorb rich historical knowledge about Tainan, stepping on every historical trace with their own feet, as if the historical figures from the textbooks come alive right before them.
