The 2025 National Creative Song Jiang Formation Contest Finals were held at the Shun Hsien Temple in Neimen, Kaohsiung. The "Feng Wu Xin Chuan - Xi Luo Feng Shan Guan" team won the championship with a theme based on the legend of Liao Tian Ding, while National University of Tainan and Longhua University of Science and Technology secured the second and third places, respectively. A total of seven teams participated in this competition, which combined elements of martial arts, drama, and dance to present a new image of the Song Jiang formation, attracting many culture enthusiasts. Gao Min Ling stated that the event reflects a profound cultural heritage and emphasized that the Song Jiang Formation Contest has become an important local cultural celebration. This year's outstanding awards were given to "Liang Shan Heroes - Zhen Bei Fan" and "Jia Le Chuan Yi," while special awards were presented to "Wang Lai Baby" and "Min Jing Song Jiang."

The Director of the Tourism Bureau stated that this event attracted cultural enthusiasts from both domestic and abroad, creating a lively atmosphere with continuous applause, showcasing profound cultural heritage and creative strength. The excellent performance of "Feng Wu Xin Chuan - Xi Laosong Mountain Hall" earned them the championship, with National Tainan University and Longhua University of Science and Technology following closely with the second and third places. Additionally, "Liang Shan Hero Town Bei Fan" and "Jia Le Chuan Yi" received excellence awards, while "Guan Miao Dong Shi Wang Lai Baby" and "Min Jing Song Jiang" received honorable mention awards. In the special awards category, "Wang Lai Baby" won the Heavenly Mazu Award, while "Min Jing Song Jiang" received the Kaohsiung City Council Speaker Award.
This event attracted the attendance of many distinguished guests, highlighting the high importance placed on intangible cultural heritage. The Director of the Tourism Bureau also pointed out that visitor numbers in Kaohsiung are expected to exceed 69.23 million in 2024, maintaining the top position in the country for two consecutive years. Since its inception in 2001, the Song Jiang Battle Competition has entered its 25th year, with three major temples taking turns to host, gradually becoming a representative local cultural celebration.
The performances of the teams were filled with creativity. For example, "Guan Miao Dong Shi Wang Lai Baby" used bamboo weapons, paired with Bagua and centipede formations for their performance; "Min Jing Song Jiang" incorporated Hakka Lion Dance and time-space plot elements to depict formations like tornado water. Meanwhile, "Jia Le Chuan Yi" combined temple yard culture, Pili dance, and martial arts, demonstrating a unique blending power. The champion "Feng Wu Xin Chuan - Xi Laosong Mountain Hall" presented Liao Tian Ding's story in an episodic format, with meticulous and splendid character settings and stage combat design, earning unanimous recognition from judges and audiences, injecting innovative vitality into traditional art formations.
