The "Enjoy Kaohsiung" Children's Day event organized by Kaohsiung City lasted for four days and attracted over one million participants. The event at Weiwu Ying combined LEGO with特色市集 (specialty market), aesthetic education, and diverse games, allowing children to experience creativity and fun. During the event, 600 students from rural areas showcased their LEGO creations, and there were music and dance performances. A designated painting area allowed children to create freely and have the chance to win small prizes. This Children's Day event became a stage for parents and children to spend quality time together, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere on-site.
The "Lego Kaohsiung" event held at Weiwuying during this year's Children's Day attracted over a million attendees. The event lasted four days and ended today (the 6th). It was loved by both young and old, and it also promoted the local economy by encouraging young innovators and entrepreneurs in Kaohsiung, featuring 100 unique market brands, integrating themes of "childlike joy" and "vibrancy." This market was filled with food and entertainment, making it a distinctive venue for everyone to enjoy a happy and fun Children’s Day.
This year's "Lego Kaohsiung" event also served as a platform to help children from remote areas showcase their talents. Twelve rural schools from the Kaohsiung area were invited to participate, holding workshops where approximately 600 students created works made up of 98,304 Lego pieces from 96 base plates within just eight days, which were displayed during the event. Additionally, students from nine elementary schools performed string music and traditional dance on-site, providing the children with an opportunity to showcase their talents.
The Kaohsiung Children’s Day event "Lego Kaohsiung" offered not only games and entertainment, but also created an environment where children could explore freely and grow happily. Under professional guidance, children were able to freely combine Lego blocks and participate in various activities such as building walls, racing challenges, and themed inflatable zones, filling every corner of Weiwuying with laughter and joy.
The city government mobilized various departments to allow children to enjoy a range of creative and interesting activities at Weiwuying, experience the sense of accomplishment from building with Lego blocks, and take part in various sports challenges. The inflatable zone in particular provided endless fun for many children, making it a memorable experience. Furthermore, to promote aesthetic education, the education bureau set up a "Happy Painting Zone" with four different levels, allowing children to participate based on their interests, providing various materials and professional guidance. Children who completed their creations were also able to enter a lottery to win small Lego-related gifts.
The event attracted large crowds, creating a lively atmosphere where parents and children participated in various activities together, spending quality time. Additionally, there was a painting graffiti tent recruitment, inviting the elderly and families to participate and create a variety of interesting works. Nearly a hundred colorful tents were displayed on-site, resembling a vibrant forest, creating a beautiful atmosphere of happy families.
Over the four days of activities at Weiwuying, a massive number of visitors flocked in, with the highlight being the three consecutive nights of movie screenings. Many adults brought their children to reminisce about their childhood, attracting people from other counties and cities, making Weiwuying a vibrant place at night with crowds lingering for a long time.
