A fire broke out tonight (6th) at a residential building on Zhongshan Road in the Guanmiao District of Tainan City. An elderly woman in her 80s was reportedly trapped inside the house. Fortunately, thanks to the swift rescue efforts by firefighters, she was successfully freed, but she was sent to the hospital for treatment due to smoke inhalation and burns. After the fire incident in Guanmiao, the fire department received the report at 8:13 PM, indicating that a bungalow on Zhongshan Road in the Guanmiao District was on fire. After receiving the news, firefighters immediately dispatched six teams, including those from Guanmiao and Rende, to the scene. When firefighters arrived, there was already a large amount of thick smoke, but no visible flames. The rescue personnel quickly entered the house and rescued the trapped woman. Upon initial examination, the woman was conscious but required treatment due to smoke inhalation and second-degree burns covering about 2 to 3% of her back. Her son also felt respiratory discomfort from smoke inhalation and was sent to the hospital for examination by ambulance.
