During the event of the Dajia Mazu pilgrimage, conflicts frequently broke out among the worshipers. On the night of the 4th, personnel from the Zhenlan Temple clashed with other temple groups while clearing a path for Mazu, leading to physical confrontations among the individuals. One worshiper attacked with a helmet, and another man allegedly brandished a firearm to intimidate others, ultimately being taken into custody by the police under the Social Order Maintenance Act. In the early morning of the 6th, two men had a verbal altercation with the Niansang group, resulting in a scuffle with the police. In response, the chairman of Zhenlan Temple, 顏清標, urged worshipers to remain calm to avoid unnecessary disturbances.

The annual Dajia Mazu pilgrimage event officially began late at night on the 4th, but conflicts among the devotees emerged one after another. That evening, personnel from Zhenlan Temple had a heated push-and-shove with other temple groups to clear the way; during the incident, a member attacked with a safety helmet, and there were reports of someone brandishing a firearm. In the early hours of the 6th, two other men clashed with members of the Nansan group, which subsequently led to a scuffle with the police. In response, Yan Qingbiao called on the devotees to remain restrained.

On that evening, when the Dajia Mazu palanquin set off, Zhenlan Temple personnel and other temple staff experienced a push-and-shove incident, resulting in a member surnamed Huang using a safety helmet to assault Zhenlan Temple personnel. After receiving reports, the police investigated Huang and dealt with him according to Article 87 of the Social Order Maintenance Act. During the subsequent investigation, the police discovered that a man surnamed Zhang had brandished a gun amidst the chaos, which was eventually seized along with an air gun. After his arrival at the police station, Zhang stated that he brought the weapon to "boost his courage" for participating in the event.

In the early morning hours today, two men had an argument with members of the Nansan group at the intersection of Ziqiang and Cixiu North Roads, and subsequently got into a scuffle with the police, who quickly subdued the two men and brought them back to the police station. Initial investigations revealed that one of the men exhibited signs of alcohol consumption and was suspected of being drunk.

Yan Qingbiao responded to these conflict incidents, believing that the issues should not have been provoked by the staff of Zhenlan Temple, "but rather by personnel from local temples supporting the Nansan group." He reiterated his call for devotees to restrain their behavior to avoid causing negative impacts.
