Willpower is a driving force for success, but it is prone to "self-depletion" when frequently faced with temptations, leading to a decrease in self-control. Research shows that fatigue can affect our choices; for example, after being busy, we tend to choose high-calorie foods. Therefore, appropriately replenishing energy can help maintain rational judgment and avoid making impulsive decisions when extremely tired. Thus, when feeling fatigued, it is advisable to take a break and avoid making significant decisions.

Many people envy those with strong willpower, who pursue success relentlessly and can withstand various obstacles. In fact, willpower also plays a driving role in life, often allowing us to focus on something for a short period and give our all to achieve it. However, once willpower is activated, it may enter a phase of temporary depletion or mental fatigue. During this time, we are easily swayed by external temptations and find it difficult to think deeply.

Self-depletion can lower self-control because the brain also needs to recharge. This phenomenon is known as "self-depletion," akin to a toilet tank being temporarily empty after flushing. During this period, we find it hard to resist habits and lack self-control, especially in terms of dieting or moderation.
