The retired Nadal remains quite concerned about the professional tennis world. He recently issued a warning, believing that if the current tennis rules do not change, powerful serve-oriented players could dominate the courts due to their height advantage in the future. The Spanish tennis star, who won 22 Grand Slam titles in his career, proudly retired last year, known for his resilience and outstanding physical capabilities rather than relying on serving advantages.

During a European sports forum held in collaboration with the media, Nadal pointed out, "Looking back at the history of tennis development, the competition rules have hardly changed. But today's players are getting taller and have better mobility, and the power of serving has become a critical factor." He expressed concerns, stating, "If not restricted, if players over two meters tall and agile emerge in the future, it will make it difficult for other players to compete, even to break their serve." However, the 38-year-old retired star emphasized that this phenomenon has not yet come to pass. He cited Djokovic reaching the Miami Masters final at the age of 37 as an example: "Currently, this (era of giants dominating) has not yet arrived. Just a week ago in the competition, Djokovic reached the final, while I was still competing on the professional circuit a year and a half ago. This indicates that the ecology of tennis has not undergone a drastic change, and our generation of players remains competitive."

Reflecting on his illustrious career, Nadal reached the Grand Slam finals 30 times, winning 14 titles at the French Open, as well as 4 US Open titles, 2 Wimbledon titles, and 2 Australian Open titles. Although he faced injury troubles in the later part of his career, he ultimately chose to retire with honor at the 2024 French Open. "I have never been arrogant, nor have I obsessed over numerical achievements," he summarized calmly. "To retire with a sense of fulfillment is, for me, completeness.
