Recently, a scam group has impersonated Chunghwa Post, claiming that the public's personal documents have been misused in an attempt to steal personal and banking information. Chunghwa Post stated that this type of scam is not new and urged the public to stay vigilant. To avoid being scammed, citizens who receive suspicious calls should verify through the customer service hotline or directly visit the post office and should not easily trust contacts of unknown origin to ensure the safety of their assets.

Scam groups are continuously innovating their tactics. Recently, they impersonated Chunghwa Post and called the public, claiming that their identification documents were being misused, in an attempt to steal personal information and banking account details. This is not the first time scam groups have committed fraud under the name of Chunghwa Post; in the past, they have used the guise of the Chunghwa Post customer service center, pretending to offer rental assistance to trick people, so the public should be particularly cautious.

Recently, a scam group has impersonated Hsinchu Post and called the public, falsely claiming that their identification documents were being misused and urgently needed to confirm relevant information. The criminals attempt to lure the public into providing ID documents, bank account details, and other information, which could lead to financial losses. Therefore, the public is urged to stay alert.

To prevent fraud, Chunghwa Post specifically reminds the public that if they receive suspicious phone calls, they can verify using the following methods:

• Call the postal customer service hotline: 0800-700-365
• Mobile users can call the paid line: 04-2354-2030
• Dial the Criminal Police Bureau’s 165 anti-fraud consultation hotline
• Visit the nearest post office to verify information in person

The public must diligently protect their personal data and should never easily trust calls from unknown origins to ensure their property safety. In case of suspicious circumstances, it is advisable to verify immediately with the relevant authorities to avoid falling into scam traps.
