ZiZi Korean BBQ is located on Gongyi Road in Taichung, specializing in Korean barbecue. The interior is stylish, making it a great spot for photos and check-ins. The menu offers a variety of choices, with reasonable set prices that include unlimited side dishes and lettuce. The signature thick-cut pork belly is especially popular, tender and flavorful, while the Korean spicy tofu stew and seafood pancake are also worth trying. Overall, the meal performance is good, and it is recommended for those who love Korean barbecue. Address: No. 933, Section 2, Gongyi Road, Nantun District, Taichung City. Phone: 0901 228 207.

Taichung | BBQ ZiZi has welcomed a new Korean BBQ restaurant in the food battle zone on Gongyi Road! This BBQ ZiZi, which just opened a month ago, has a name that immediately evokes the image of grilling; what a great name! BBQ ZiZi is located in the later section of Gongyi Road, near Longfu Road, and is the former location of a Korean new food restaurant in Zhongke. We had previously enjoyed their pandemic bento boxes and were quite impressed, so we specifically came to Gongyi Road to try their offerings! In fact, the design of BBQ ZiZi in a Morandi color scheme looks very much like a cafe, and the atmosphere is perfect for Instagram check-ins, truly capturing the hearts of young consumers!

Taichung | Next to the counter of BBQ ZiZi is a large wall featuring the word ZIZI, which is great for photos and adds a touch of privacy to the two seating areas behind it.

Taichung | The first-floor seating area of BBQ ZiZi can accommodate 4-5 tables of guests, while the second floor has an even more spacious dining environment, making it suitable for company gatherings.

Taichung | Next to the stairs leading to the second floor of BBQ ZiZi stands a row of tall CASS beers, not sure if it's for display or if there's just no place to put them?

Taichung | The dining environment on the second floor of BBQ ZiZi gives a sense of spaciousness, making meals more comfortable.

Taichung | Of course, BBQ ZiZi offers Korean CASS beer, soju, and makgeolli to provide an authentic Korean flavor!

Taichung | This time we ordered the two-person NT$2199 beef and pork set. After selecting, we scan the QR code to order; since the menu is quite extensive, please check the detailed menu at the end.

Taichung | Before the meals are served at BBQ ZiZi, we were offered sauces including BBQ sauce, sweet and spicy sauce, and sesame oil mixed with pepper salt, which were very plentiful.

Taichung | The side dishes and lettuce at BBQ ZiZi can be refilled freely, but unfortunately, there are no sesame leaves! The spicy bean sprouts and kimchi among the side dishes are my favorites~

Taichung | We chose unsweetened green tea and Calpis soda as drinks at BBQ ZiZi.

Taichung | The meats at BBQ ZiZi are served, with pork on the left and beef on the right.

Taichung | The Iberico pork selection includes pork collar, pork belly strips, and pork blade, which was a bit confusing as the staff explained it quickly, so I couldn't remember clearly.

Taichung | This thick-cut pork belly was a complimentary dish from the restaurant, and it was quickly placed on the grill as soon as it arrived, so fast that I couldn't take a photo. I really want to know why it was complimentary!

Taichung | Since we made a reservation in advance, there weren't too many people, and the staff helped grill the meat. This pork belly was grilled to a crispy perfection, and the fatty parts became crunchy – the texture was fantastic~

Taichung | The crispy grilled pork belly wrapped in lettuce made for a greatly satisfying meal! The portion of lettuce served was quite generous; there was no need to ask the staff for more~

Taichung | The texture of the pork ribs was quite chewy, while the pork blade was more firm when eaten.

Taichung | The beef selection included Angus tender shoulder, Angus short ribs, and Australian grain-fed diaphragm.

Taichung | The grain-fed diaphragm had a chewier texture, offering a unique flavor when eaten.

Taichung | The grilled short ribs had a very chewy texture but were not tough; this dish was one I particularly liked.

Taichung | The tender shoulder beef had a soft texture and rich fat, which was absolutely stunning!

Taichung | A must-have side dish for Korean BBQ is the delicious spicy tofu stew, which also included rice cakes.

Taichung | This spicy tofu stew at BBQ ZiZi had a deliciously spicy soup base; as a fan of Korean tofu stew, I highly recommend it. The tofu quantity was substantial, and it also contained meat, making it quite hearty – even the two of us couldn't finish it!

Taichung | Looking at the photo of this soup, it really makes one salivate!

Taichung | There are many choices for staple foods; we selected seafood pancakes.

Taichung | The pancakes contained shrimp and squid, with the cooking time perfectly controlled to be crispy, and the dipping sauce was a nice tangy and savory balance, just right.

Taichung | The dessert selection was not particularly special, nor strongly Korean, as we ordered a scoop of Hokkaido melon ice cream and a Mövenpick yogurt.

Taichung | At the counter during checkout, we saw Korean rice cracker candy, which has a unique flavor and is worth trying!

Taichung | Initially, we wanted to order for three people, but were advised to start with two servings, and we realized that we were already full, making it hard to eat more. Overall, the meat quality performed well, and the thick-cut pork belly was particularly impressive; the side dishes also had bright spots. The overall dining experience was very satisfying, so friends who love Korean BBQ should not miss it!
