Admission to the observation deck is free, while the cable car fare is 1,230 yen for adults and 620 yen for children. Along the way, you can enjoy spectacular views and even have the chance to see fireworks and special performances at night, making it a perfect romantic destination.

When you arrive in Kyushu, how can you miss the Sarakura Mountain Observatory? This place is one of Japan's new three great night views. The Sarakura Mountain Observatory is quite close to JR Yahata Station, with free shuttle buses available on both weekdays and weekends, taking about ten minutes to get there. If departing from Kokura, there are also free shuttle buses on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. Departing from the north exit of JR Kokura Station, there are hourly buses to the observatory from 3 PM to 5 PM. For detailed schedules, please refer to the official website. Although it was not my first visit, the weather was particularly good this time, and I even saw fireworks being launched in the distance, coinciding perfectly with the Sarakura Mountain's moon, making me feel exceptionally lucky.

The operation time of the cable car is very flexible, adjusted seasonally, with an adult ticket price of 1,230 yen and a family ticket for children priced at 620 yen, while entry to the observatory is free.

This cable car is the longest in Kyushu, stretching a total of 1.1 kilometers, taking you directly to the mountaintop observatory at an altitude of 622 meters, overlooking the entire Kitakyushu city area. Although the slope along the way is not steep, it is filled with thrilling sensations.

During the cable car ride, large transparent windows allow you to fully appreciate the night view, which is stunning. While waiting in line to transfer to the monorail, you can enjoy the beautiful spectacular night scenery. It's recommended that even if you come in the summer, don't forget to bring a light jacket because the wind at the top of the mountain is strong.

This time also brought the luck of witnessing the fireworks being launched in the distance, which was incredibly romantic.

From the observatory, there are two cable cars you must transfer to, with a total travel time of about ten minutes, but you may need to spend extra time waiting to transfer.

In April 2023, a new restaurant opened at the Sarakura Mountain Observatory, providing an experience where you can enjoy dinner while appreciating the night view.

That evening, a special singer was invited to perform live.

The Heavenly Palace Restaurant located at the observatory officially opened in April 2023, offering a diverse menu including grilled curry, light meals, and desserts, as well as special dishes like grilled meat and pasta that can be reserved in advance.

You can enjoy a 180-degree view of the night scenery while having dinner, experiencing the priceless happiness of the breathtaking view valued at 10 billion dollars.

The standard of the dishes may be average, but accompanied by the beautiful night scenery, everything becomes more colorful.

The view from the observatory is particularly enchanting, with a 200-degree vista from left to right, leaving one in awe. The weather was just right tonight, showcasing not only a clear night view but also the Sarakura Mountain Moon, which was voted as one of Japan's top hundred choices.

From the observatory, you can clearly see the Wakamatsu Ohashi Bridge, with an excellent view.

The fast descent of the cable car during the return journey, coupled with the dazzling night scenery, is unforgettable. If you arrive in the evening, with a bit of luck, you can also enjoy the perfect combination of sunset and night view.
