Located about a ten-minute drive from the Nantou Service Area on National Highway 3, the Zhongliao Yihe Snack Bar is a popular brunch spot that offers a variety of options including braised pork rice, minced pork rice, noodles, and soups. The recommended braised pork rice features distinct grains of rice, with tender and flavorful meat that isn't greasy, while the sesame noodles are rich and aromatic. Soups like the white tofu soup are light and sweet, and the bitter melon soup is pleasantly rich and sweet, particularly suitable for fans of bitter melon. The pork ears served with garlic oil paste are delicious and enjoyable to chew. The dining environment in the restaurant is comfortable, and you are welcome to come and enjoy a tasty lunch.

About ten minutes by car from the Nantou Service Area on National Freeway No. 3 or the Mingjian Family Ecological Park, this is a popular brunch spot in the area, offering a variety of choices including braised pork rice, minced pork rice, noodles, soups, and side dishes.

The braised pork rice (large) comes with pickled cabbage and pickled cucumbers. Although we were unsure if we could choose the type of meat, we didn’t inquire further as the crowd grew. A special reminder is to take out the toothpick first! The rice is fluffy, the lean meat is tender yet firm, and the fatty meat is sweet without being greasy. If you happen to choose a piece with more fat, it might not be suitable for those who do not like fatty meat.

The sesame noodles (small) have a rich sesame sauce and the aroma of braised meat. The noodles are a combination of plain noodles with some thicker noodles added.

The white tofu soup has a lighter taste and a fresh sweetness, with added fried scallions.

The bitter melon soup has a sweet and rich flavor, infused with the fragrance of bitter melon, making it worth a try for those who enjoy it.

The pig ears paired with garlic oil paste and smoky meat flavor are quite crunchy, making it easy to unknowingly finish the whole plate.
