This event is one of Taiwan's largest scale sports and cultural exchange activities for the Vietnamese community, hosted by the Chinese Taiwan-Vietnam New Resident Care Association. It attracted 24 teams from northern, central, and southern regions, with nearly 600 enthusiastic participants, including new residents, migrant workers, and international students from Vietnam, showcasing the strength and vitality of the Vietnamese community in Taiwan.

The 2025 Taiwan-Vietnam Cup is designed to cover seven days of matches, featuring regional competitions held in Taichung, Taoyuan, and Kaohsiung. The final match will take place at the Xitun Football Field in Taichung. This event will also include an “International Cuisine × Cultural Marketplace,” further highlighting the enriching diversity of the Vietnamese community's life in Taiwan. Throughout the event, real-time Vietnamese language broadcasts and online live streaming will be provided.

Guo Qirui, the founding chairman of the Chinese Taiwan-Vietnam New Resident Care Association, stated that the association has been committed to assisting Vietnamese new residents, migrant workers, and international students living in Taiwan through vocational training programs, employment counseling, and cultural activities, aiming to establish a support network for their livelihoods. Holding the Taiwan-Vietnam Cup is not only an important part of their continued support efforts but also embodies the association's mission to promote cultural integration, enhance community participation, and improve quality of life.

Furthermore, Xie, the founding vice-chairman of the association, pointed out that this tournament is being held for the second time this year, having received significant positive feedback last year. He added that this football activity allows the Vietnamese community across Taiwan to interact and connect with one another.

Chairman Nguyen Hong Khai of VT-CUP 2025 expressed gratitude for everyone's support for the event and wished for its successful completion. Kaohsiung City Councilor Li Ya-Hui also attended the event, emphasizing her long-term efforts to promote the development of sports and culture in northern Kaohsiung, and proposed the vision of making the Zuoying and Nanzih areas the core of a “New Sports Economy,” advocating for the revitalization of the Universiade venues and enhancement of public sports resources in the Nanzih area.
