Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung hosted a dinner for a visiting delegation from the Polish Parliament today, announcing that Taiwan would soon allow the import of fresh blueberries from Poland. This policy implementation will bring high-quality agricultural products from Poland into the Taiwanese market, benefiting both Polish farmers and Taiwanese consumers.

During discussions with Polish National Assembly members Lukasz Horbatowski, Marek Chmielewski, and Iwona Krawczyk, Lin expressed hopes for further development of bilateral relations and economic cooperation. He noted that the Taiwan-Poland Parliamentary Group is the largest of its kind in the Polish Parliament, indicating a high level of support for Taiwan from Polish lawmakers.

In recent years, Taiwan and Poland have deepened their cooperation in areas such as trade, high education, judicial matters, and technology. Lin emphasized that Taiwan and Poland share common values of freedom and democracy, and he hopes to establish a closer partnership based on existing foundations.

In this exchange, Lin particularly mentioned that Taiwan's information communication industry is globally competitive, while Poland possesses a wealth of skilled workforce and production capacity. There are significant opportunities for cooperation between the two nations in areas such as artificial intelligence, drones, and advanced chips. He looks forward to both Taiwan and Poland harnessing their respective strengths to establish a resilient international supply chain.

First-time visitor Horbatowski expressed profound admiration for Taiwan's political and economic achievements. He noted that Poland is a major exporter of agricultural products and was pleased to see Taiwan opening imports for Polish blueberries, looking forward to enhanced collaboration in both the agricultural and high-tech sectors to improve the welfare of both nations' citizens.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that it will continue to promote cooperation in various fields with Poland to deepen a resilient partnership, create sustainable prosperity and welfare, and jointly safeguard the hard-earned democratic achievements.
