According to global flight tracking service “Flightradar24,” several “charter flights” departed from Tehran's Mehrabad Airport recently, heading to unknown destinations. This has sparked speculation that the current Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, may have fled the country.

As conflicts between Israel and Iran intensify, the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority announced today (14th) that the country’s airspace has been closed. However, Flightradar24 contradicts this, revealing that several charter flights took off from Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, raising concerns about the identity of the passengers aboard these flights.

Opposition citizens in Iran have visually confirmed that these flights have been leaving Tehran, and they suspect that these planes may carry government officials, military leaders, and their families fleeing to safe havens. There are even rumors circulating online suggesting that Khamenei has boarded one of these flights heading to Russia for refuge.

Tonight, Flightradar24 reported via the X platform that several charter flights took off from Mehrabad Airport just hours ago, and the tracking system cannot display the flight paths or final destinations of these aircraft, further fueling suspicions about their purpose. Many netizens and opposition figures are monitoring these recent developments with increasing skepticism towards Iranian government announcements.

In addition to Khamenei, reports have emerged on social media that several important military figures from Iran have fled to Russia, including the current commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, and other high-ranking military personnel.

It has been reported that the Israeli Air Force conducted extensive airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear and missile facilities early on the 13th, resulting in the assassination of the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and other high-level officials. Some media have pointed out that Iran’s losses in this incident bear similarities to the targeted strikes against Hezbollah's command structure in 2024.

Currently, there is no official confirmation regarding whether Khamenei has indeed fled, but as the situation develops, the Iranian authorities will face serious challenges and sustained scrutiny from the international community.
