Every year in March and April, spring is the season when the Grey-faced Buzzard returns north, passing through Taiwan. The Zhongzhang Rongjia in Bagua Mountain welcomes a large number of hawks and falcons. In order to promote ecological education, Zhongzhang Rongjia collaborated with National Changhua University of Education to hold the "Spirits of the Wind - Grey-faced Buzzard Ecological Observation" event. This event invited ecologist Li Wei-Han to serve as the guiding lecturer, leading the elderly in observing the Grey-faced Buzzards at the Rongjia Yangxin Garden and nearby roundabouts to understand their habits and the importance of ecological protection. The elderly listened attentively to the explanations and excitedly observed the soaring hawks. Professor Wang Man-Ping of National Changhua University pointed out that the Grey-faced Buzzard breeds in China, South Korea, and Japan during the year and stops at Bagua Mountain in Changhua, making it the best time for hawk watching. This year, the event expanded its invitation to more seniors, enhancing their understanding of ecological conservation and allowing more people to enjoy this annual ecological celebration. Director Lu De-Yi of Zhongzhang Rongjia stated that this activity allowed the elderly to see these visitors with their own eyes and deepen their practice of environmental education through learning.
Every spring in March and April, it is the time when the Gray-faced Buzzard returns north, passing through Taiwan. During this period, the stunning sight of flocks of hawks soaring in the sky above Bagua Mountain is often visible. Chung-chang Rongjia has specially collaborated with the "Ecological Healing Green Sustainability: Changhua Ecological Art Project" team from Changhua Normal University to hold an event titled "Spirits in the Wind - Gray-faced Buzzard Ecological Observation." During the event, ecological scholars were invited to serve as eagle-watching guides, leading the seniors in Rongjia Yangxin Garden and the surrounding area to observe this migratory bird of prey, understand its living habits, ecological environment, and the importance of conservation.
Under the guidance of Teacher Li, the seniors attentively listened to information about the lifestyle, migratory paths, and related ecological knowledge of the Gray-faced Buzzard, occasionally looking up at the sky to catch glimpses of the hawks flying and cheering as they shared the beautiful sights they observed. A professor from Changhua Normal University stated that the Gray-faced Buzzard breeds in China, Korea, and Japan in Asia, migrates south in October for winter, and returns north in March and April. Bagua Mountain is a crucial path for them during migration and serves as a rest stop, making this period the best time for eagle watching and an important annual event in the Changhua area.
Changhua Normal University is committed to social responsibility. In addition to helping students understand the ecology of the Gray-faced Buzzard, this year they have expanded their cooperation with Chung-chang Rongjia, inviting seniors to learn about and observe the ecological conservation of the Gray-faced Buzzard, promoting ecological education in the Changhua area. The director of Chung-chang Rongjia mentioned that Rongjia is located on the eagle-watching platform of Bagua Mountain, where the Gray-faced Buzzard always displays beautiful flight whenever they pass by. The collaboration with the team from Changhua Normal University for this ecological observation activity allows the seniors not only to admire the grace of the Gray-faced Buzzard but also to utilize the resources of the university to further learn about the ecology and conservation knowledge of the Gray-faced Buzzard, deepening the practice of environmental education.
