The groundbreaking ceremony for the new construction project of Chia-Ke Experimental Middle School took place today (the 25th). The school covers an area of 8.5 hectares, with an investment of NT$ 2.29 billion from the National Science Council. The plan includes the construction of a kindergarten, schools of various levels, a gymnasium, and more, accommodating a total of 1,573 students. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed in July 2026, with the entire project slated for completion by 2028. Deputy Minister Su Chen-Kang emphasized that the establishment of this school is crucial for the development of the Chiayi Science Park and thanked the local government and the Ministry of Education for their support. County Mayor Weng Chang-Liang also looks forward to the new school attracting high-tech talent and providing a high-quality educational environment. Since its establishment, Chia-Ke Experimental Middle School has collaborated with numerous institutions to promote specialized courses, dedicated to nurturing holistic education.

The construction of the new campus for 嘉科實驗中學 officially broke ground today (25th), with a total land area of 8.5 hectares. This project is supported by the Chiayi County Government and aims to align with the overall development plan of the Chiayi Science Park. 嘉科實驗中學 bears the important responsibility of retaining and nurturing talent, with the National Science Council investing 2.29 billion TWD in this project.

The newly constructed campus facilities will include a kindergarten, an elementary department, a middle school department, a high school department, a bilingual department, a gymnasium, a library, as well as dormitories, landscaping, and playgrounds. The design can accommodate 52 classes, with an expected enrollment of 1,573 students. The first phase of the project is scheduled for completion in July 2026, and the entire area will be completed by 2028.

The Deputy Minister of the National Science and Technology Council stated that the establishment of 嘉科實驗中學 is an important achievement in advancing the Chiayi Science Park, and support will continue for the development of this area and the school. He expressed gratitude to the principal and the preparatory team for their dedication to cultivating talent that combines technology and culture, and appreciated the support from the county government and the Ministry of Education, looking forward to 嘉科實驗中學 becoming an important base for national talent.

The county magistrate shared his recent experience visiting Kumamoto, Japan, pointing out how the local community achieved overall development due to the presence of TSMC, and mentioned the successful case of Vietnam establishing schools to lead community development. He hopes that 嘉科實驗中學's quality educational environment can attract more high-tech talent to gather in Chiayi, providing continuous momentum for local development.

According to experiences from other science parks, the achievements of schools within the area are significant, attracting numerous students and parents' attention. The slots at 嘉科實驗中學 are in high demand, and in the future, about 20% of the slots will be reserved for local students.

Since its establishment, 嘉科實驗中學 has formed strategic alliances with several higher education institutions, such as the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, and various universities, offering specialized courses including "Southern Branch Arts in Motion," semiconductor technology, AI applications, and smart healthcare, promoting holistic education that fosters scientific innovation, cultural literacy, and international perspectives.
