The Ministry of Finance announced the status of license tax collection for the year 114, with a total of 8,415,886 vehicles taxed, amounting to NT$66.58519 billion, showing significant year-on-year growth. Among the six municipalities, Taichung City had the highest license tax collection, reaching 1,162,816 vehicles, with a tax amount of approximately NT$9.49927 billion. In terms of electric vehicles, as of the end of February, 97,619 electric vehicles have been exempted from license tax, with the exemption amount reaching NT$2.5 billion, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 64.8%. Taipei City has the highest number of electric vehicles, with 22,436 vehicles. Relevant officials stated that whether the tax exemption for electric vehicles will be extended is still under consideration.
The Ministry of Finance announced today the status of the license tax collection for the year 114, with this year's collection reaching 8,415,886 vehicles, resulting in a tax amount of 66.58519 billion TWD, an increase of 184,187 vehicles, and an increase of 442.64 million TWD. Among these, the license tax collection for the six special municipalities amounted to 5,645,882 vehicles, with a tax amount of 45.24809 billion TWD. Taichung City reported a vehicle count of 1,162,816, with a tax amount of approximately 9.49927 billion TWD, ranking first in the country. However, with the influx of population, Taoyuan has the highest growth rate of vehicles.
As for electric vehicles, the amount exempted from license tax has reached 97.619 million TWD by the end of February this year, with a total exemption amount of 2.5032 billion TWD, and the number of vehicles growing annually by 64.8%. Among the six special municipalities, Taipei City has the most electric vehicles, currently totaling 22,436; followed by Taichung City with 13,985 and New Taipei City with 12,354.
Regarding whether the exemption of license tax for electric vehicles will be extended, relevant officials stated that the Ministry of Finance is currently discussing it.
