Regarding electric vehicles, as of the end of February this year, there are 97,619 vehicles exempt from license tax, with an exemption amount of NT$2.5032 billion, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 64.8%. Among the six metropolitan areas, Taipei City has the highest number of electric vehicles, with 22,436 vehicles. The Ministry of Finance is still considering whether to extend the tax exemption benefits.

The Ministry of Finance announced today the collection status of the license tax for the year 114. This year's collection reached 8,415,886 vehicles, with a total tax amount of 66.58519 billion NTD, representing an annual increase of 184,187 vehicles and 442.64 million NTD. Among the six major municipalities, the license tax collection was 5,645,882 vehicles, totaling 45.24809 billion NTD. Taichung City's vehicle count reached 1,162,816 vehicles, with a tax amount of approximately 9.49927 billion NTD, ranking first in the nation. However, with the increase in population, Taoyuan has the highest vehicle growth rate.
Regarding electric vehicles, as of the end of February this year, the amount exempted from the license tax has accumulated to 97.619 million NTD, with a total exemption amount of 2.5032 billion NTD and a year-on-year vehicle growth of 64.8%. Among the six major municipalities, Taipei City has the highest number of electric vehicles, currently totaling 22,436; followed by Taichung City with 13,985 vehicles and New Taipei City with 12,354 vehicles.
As for whether the exemption from the license tax for electric vehicles will be extended, relevant officials stated that the Ministry of Finance is still conducting ongoing research.
