Due to the variety and affordability of Taiwanese alcoholic drinks, numerous Korean tourists are coming to Taiwan to buy them in a frenzy. At a liquor store in the Yongkang shopping district in Taipei, there are long lines every day as soon as the doors open, almost entirely filled with consumers from Korea, surprising passersby who can't help but inquire about the queue, only to find out they are there to purchase alcoholic products.

The impressive spoils these tourists display indicate that Taiwanese alcoholic products still hold considerable competitiveness globally.

According to data, the price of alcohol in Korea is 2 to 3 times that of Taiwan, and the recognition of Taiwan's "Kavalan Whisky," which has won international awards, makes Taiwanese whisky highly recommended in Korea, becoming a must-buy souvenir for Korean travelers to Taiwan.

Travel experts point out that Taiwan is one of the important markets for whisky globally, with many international brands available, offering customers a diverse selection. In addition, Taiwanese distilleries have won numerous international awards for their whiskies, making them one of the options for souvenirs for Japanese and Korean tourists, just like kaoliang. The high taxes and tariffs on spirits in Korea also encourage Korean tourists to habitually buy more spirits when traveling abroad.

With the rise of Taiwanese alcohol, the selection of souvenirs has become increasingly diverse, with Taiwanese brands unexpectedly becoming the hot spots for Korean tourists to queue and buy.
