Across the United States, 'Kingless Day' protests are scheduled to take place on the 14th, with cities like New York and Los Angeles ramping up police presence to prevent potential violent clashes. In Los Angeles, about 200 Marine Corps members have been deployed early in the morning to safeguard the Wilshire Federal Building while ensuring community safety.

During a recent operation, one Marine noticed a man allegedly trying to approach the federal building and proceeded to detain him. After being transferred to personnel from the Department of Homeland Security, the man was quickly released. The detained individual, Leo, explained that the misunderstanding arose when he crossed a police line to reach the Veterans Affairs office, believing he could take a direct route.

“I just wanted to take the shortest path, but they mistook me for a protester,” Leo said, expressing his frustration. This event highlights a disconnect between military and local police in responding to protest activities.

The protests are not limited to Los Angeles; on Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C., a celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army's founding will take place alongside a parade. On the 13th, some protesters breached barricades and entered the Capitol, shouting demands to cancel the parade.

“Give the money back to the people, don’t waste it on parades, veterans stand up, troops withdraw!” was echoed among the protesters. Additionally, protestors on electric scooters were seen navigating through Los Angeles streets, assisting in cleaning up the litter created by the protests, adding a unique aspect to the demonstrations.

Protester Jian expressed, “I just hate garbage. Our president may be garbage, but that doesn’t mean we should live in a garbage dump.”
